To start selling on eBay you will also need a Paypal account to sell on the platform. Paypal is what the majority of eBay sellers use to receive payments. Debit and Credit cards are accepted as a form of payment, but Paypal is much more popular. A business Paypal account is not needed, you just need a debit or bank account linked to you Paypal so you can transfer money out unless you plan on keeping it in your Paypal balance.

  • Start by going to and enter in your details. It will require your first and last name, email, and a password that you will be able to remember.

  • Once you have successfully created an account, go to the top left you should see the name you registered as and a little drop-down arrow.

  • Click on the arrow and go to account settings

  • Click on "PayPal Account" and you will see two options "Sign Up" and "Link My PayPal Account"

  • If you already have a PayPal account just click on "Link My PayPal Account and follow the steps

  • After you have added your PayPal account, go over to "Addresses" and add your "Shipping address" "Ship from address" and "Registration address, email and phone number"

Difference Between Personal and Business eBay account.

Personal accounts are for casual buying and selling on eBay, while business accounts are a good option for sellers who want to:

  • Sell items that were bought exclusively for resale

  • Make items and sell them, intending to make a profit

  • Sell a large number of goods on a regular basis

  • Buy items for their business

Others

  • This is not necessary but it will definitely make your account stand out and look for professional

  • On the top right, hover over your name and then you will see a blank profile picture

  • Click on the profile picture and it will take you to your profile

  • Click "Edit profile" which will give you more options

  • You can add a profile picture and a background banner

  • You can also write a little description of yourself

  • You can have one personal and one business account at a time
